The design criteria provided by the homeowner and contracted designer were based on creating an inviting front yard to highlight the home while addressing the underlying drainage issue. The properties location and bedrock base under the front yard presented with natural run off, causing pooling of water around the entrance of the home.
Construction of the front yard included the excavation of the sloping yard and in turn enabled the creation of leveled tiers to provide an open turf area with surrounding garden beds.
The inclusion of limestone pavers helped highlight the soft areas of the house while providing clear access to the front entrance of the home.
Clean straight lines provide a ferness matched with the steel edging to accompany the fresh but flowing and homely nature of the property. Despite the adjusting heights to the garden bed due to the contour of the rockbed our team were able to create a space that feels seamless and enduring for years to come
