Hurlstone Park Project
Location
Hurlstone Park
This project was to accommodate dual use of the backyard space between the home and rear office. The transformation of the space enabled the cascading effect of the space through the three tier position of steel edging. The tiered lawn area and weathering steel edging illustrates the flow of the space with inclusion of the same edging surrounding the garden beds.
Access from the home to the office space is set out in a stepper formation throughout the paving area to bring the green cascading effect of the lawn into the area with dichondra repens and viola hederacea planted throughout to soften the hardscape paving.
The feature of this project is the bench seat that is constructed from recycled brick and a sandstone capping. The curvature of the seat accentuates the flow of the steel edging allowing the eye to flow through the soft and hard scapes in respective areas of this project
